Marvin Harrison Jr. is on the practice field in his No. 18 Cardinals jersey this weekend at rookie minicamp, but fans who want to buy that jersey can’t.
Harrison’s shirt is still not for sale as he keeps refusing sign NFLPA joint licensing agreement.
This agreement is what allows players’ names, images and likenesses to be used on merchandise, from t-shirts to the Madden video game. Almost all players sign because there is no way to make money from jersey sales without it, but Harrison is in a unique situation because he signed a NIL contract with Fanatics while he was still at Ohio State, and now that he is in the NFL and with Fanatics has the opportunity to make more money by selling his Cardinals jersey, he wants the Fanatics to agree to renegotiate before he grants them that right.
Harrison has not publicly revealed what would prompt him to sign the agreement.
“I will continue talking to my team and we’ll do what’s best for me going forward,” Harrison said, via ESPN. “Let’s live one day at a time. I just got drafted, so I’m trying to enjoy the moment and be happy while I can.”
While other top picks like Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye have top-selling jerseys, the NFL Shop and other outlets cannot carry Harrison’s jersey. That won’t change until Harrison signs, and Harrison doesn’t appear to be in a rush.
