So let’s quickly get to the Trevor Lawrence conversation.

I know Andy, when we finished the panic meter segment last year, we were sick of talking about the Jaguars offense.

I think we, we put, we definitely, we put them in the corner of confrontation, right?

It seems like we probably did this at some point.

Uh, my God, that might as well have been a different lifetime ago, talk about the damn coping corner.

Um, but yeah, Trevor Lawrence, like, what, how optimistic are you about Lawrence in terms of making that leap?

Um, because again as a quarterback in terms of rankings, as people still, you know, like, uh, Derek Claton who does, you know, charting the work for us on receiving perception of quarterbacks, like he’s still very optimistic. in relation to Trevor Lawrence’s real-life quarterback.

Um, obviously from a fantasy perspective last year, it was really a cold disaster because he was the type of guy that you just liked to keep pitching.

You could never really convey to anyone about it.

Uh So you couldn’t believe that was the worst fantasy quarterback you had in last year’s draft.

Um, what, what, what does Trevor Lawrence’s outlook look like this season?

Yeah, you wouldn’t know, I mean you wouldn’t know that in my fantasy ranks.

Right.

Because I’m not particularly optimistic about them.

I have them in my teens, I think, like, maybe QB, 1718, something like that.

And part of the reason for that is I’ve kind of resigned myself to the fact that we’re just, the Jaguars are not going to let him get away.

Um, he was a great quarterback at the college level and in my opinion, he’s someone who can, who could definitely have the rushing season that Daniel Jones had a few years ago.

Like, this is on the line for Trevor Lawrence.

He was very good at it.

Some of his best college highlights are, you know, long touchdowns, uh, uh, runs.

Just like him, he has a gift for it when he’s forced to.

He’s still very good at it, but I don’t think it will be a major component of his game.

I don’t think the Jaguars want him to do that well.

So I can’t consider him a member of the double threat club.

So that puts him down a little.

Him and man, people really destroyed him and, including people who came in, you know, a few years ago, would have said they still believed he was a quarterback of a generation.

But like, he’s, man, they’re just a year away from winning a playoff game.

Um, they were a team on the rise that won a playoff game and I can’t, the, what I can’t get out of my head with Trevor Lawrence, um, is all the, all, all the near misses last year, right.

Like all the 1-foot entry touchdowns, um, all the, you know, the college touchdowns.

Um, it wasn’t just, I don’t, I don’t even, I think they ended up having a particularly notable year in terms of total number of drops, but some of the situational drops, like when they happened and what the outcome of the play would have been, if had been caught, um, it was just monumental.

Um, so it seemed like there were repeated, like, just huge, huge swings in his season where everything could have looked very different on paper.

It could all have looked very different statistically.

I’m quite optimistic about him in the long term.

Probably more in real life than in fantasy.

After we get past the main guys like Joe Burrow, Jack Prescott Brock Purdy is in this group.

Um, you know, Jared Goff is certainly in this group, just like Jordan Love is in this group, Trevor Lawrence could have a season like those guys there.

There is no doubt in my mind that Brian Thomas clicked and was ready to rock.

Like, and, again, that season is QB seventh, that season is QB 15?

Like, it can vary a lot there.

Um, but overall, I still think Trevor Lawrence is a quality quarterback, like he’s not, he’s not bad.

I think we’re still discovering how good he is.

Part of this will depend on the players around him.
