The Cowboys had to play most of last season without cornerback Trevon Diggs, but this week brought a positive update on his path back to the lineup.

Diggs tore his ACL in practice before the third week of last season and has been doing rehab work throughout the team’s offseason program. During a press conference on Wednesday, head coach Mike McCarthy said Diggs “looks great” while also emphasizing that the team will let things progress at their own pace early in the season.

“He’s in a good place,” McCarthy said. “I just talked to him a little bit there on Monday during the physical exams. As for when he comes back, let’s be honest, we’re going to be very cautious with these guys. soon. Better late than too fast.”

Starting training camp on the physically disabled list would give Diggs time to increase his workload without skipping any steps on the way back to full speed, but we’ll have to wait until the Cowboys get to camp to find out if that’s the way to go. that they follow.
