One of the talking points of the Ravens’ offseason is how the acquisition of running back Derrick Henry will benefit Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson during the 2024 season.
Jackson has never played alongside a quarterback as talented as Henry, but Henry offered a different take on what the partnership could bring to the field for the Ravens when he spoke to reporters on Tuesday. Henry noted that he has never played with someone who captured the focus of the defense like Jackson and is eager to see what that could mean for him in the fall.
“It definitely brings a different aspect because he’s a dual-threat quarterback and he’s dangerous with his legs as well as his arm,” Henry said, via Jeff Zrebiec of TheAthletic.com. “It will be fun and Some fresh air not being the center of attention, knowing that eyes will be on him too. But I’m really excited to get to work and put the work in here and let it all unfold.”
Henry may not have the same workload he was used to with the Titans, but that wouldn’t be the worst thing for a veteran who knows his job “is to be explosive, to make explosive runs, to be a threat against the run.” game and anywhere else I’m asked to help with this offense.”
