Video transcript

It was actually Brandon Auk’s tiktok account on a call with Jayden Daniels, where Brandon said the 49ers didn’t want him to do that anymore, to Jaden Daniels.

Hmm, this is very interesting.

Um, to me this goes a little further than a negotiation tactic.

To me, it seems like he was really hurt by these contract negotiations, which is probably understandable.

He has been one of their best players in recent years.

It developed into, I think, a real business.

Uh, number one wide receiver and 49er, like they’re a place where you have so many good players, you’re going to have to make some tough decisions when, uh, it’s time for everyone to get paid.

And now Brandon Auk, with a month left in training camp, doesn’t have a long-term contract with the 49er and it doesn’t appear there is any clarity about his future.

Yes.

II I highly doubt John Lynch or Kyle Shanahan will call Brandon Auk and say, we don’t want you like this anymore.

It just doesn’t make sense.

I think Brandon is exactly like you said, his feelings are probably hurt that he didn’t get the long term extension.

But what, he probably gets paid $30 million a year in that range.

Either way, he played at that level.

Like if JJ is worth 35 then Brandon must be, he’s probably looking at Devante Smith and I’m better than Devante Smith.

So let’s close the gap and raise it to 30 while the 49ers can’t afford it now and drafted Ricky.

So I think the 49ers are probably looking at this like, hey, someone wants a B US with an offer.

Cool.

But just like the Bengals, the 49er should feel like we could win a Super Bowl this year.

We have the best team in football.

They should feel that way anyway, whether it’s true or not, we’ll find out.

But if I was a 49er, I would say, look Brandon, what are you going to do, sit at home, go do your season, you kind of have to play with us and if you get paid next off-season, we’ll wish you well.

But let’s try to win a Super Bowl first.

You will discover your future after this.

But I don’t know, I, I don’t, I, I just feel like this has to end with Brandon and I playing for the San Francisco 49er this season.

He probably won’t resign.

And then we’ll see how he becomes a somewhat unhappy camper.
