The Steelers made three moves before the first practice of training camp.

The team announced it has placed linebacker Cole Holcomb and offensive lineman Dean Lowry on the active/physically disabled list. Running back/kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson will start on the active/non-football injury list.

Patterson injured his hamstring doing non-football work, according to coach Mike Tomlin.

It’s unclear how much time Patterson could miss.

Holcomb injured his left knee in a November 6 game against the Titans and ended his season on injured reserve following anterior cruciate ligament surgery. He started eight games and totaled 54 tackles, four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and two passes defensed.

It’s been a routine. It’s going to be a tough task,” Holcomb told Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “But it’s one of those injuries where all you have to do is just work. I can do it. I have no problem doing it. I’ll do whatever it takes to get back.”
