The Vancouver Hockey School is partnering with former Canucks defenseman Troy Stecher’s charity, the TS51 Foundation, to support men’s mental health. Bieksa lost a former teammate, Rick Rypien, after battling depression. Rypien was just 27 years old.

Bieksa rose to fame following his retirement as a commentator on the Hockey Night in Canada panel on Sportsnet. His opinions are honest and fair, as was his play on the ice.

That didn’t stop Bieksa from being a good person. His knowledge of the game and former teammates has allowed him to become one of the best hockey speakers in the NHL.

The camp will take place at the end of the month, from August 26th to 29th.
