Recent Vegas Golden Knights free agent signing Ilya Samsonov had interesting words for Ottawa Senators goaltender Linus Ullmark.
Samsonov and Ullmark have fought several times over the past two seasons while playing for rival teams. Samsonov and the Toronto Maple Leafs lost in Game 7 to Ullmark and the Boston Bruins during the first round of the 2023-24 Stanley Cup playoffs.
Samsonov struggled and Ullmark was replaced by Jeremy Swayman, despite this, Ullmark had very harsh words about the Golden Knights’ new goaltender.
“I was surprised they kept Samsonov in so many games against us in the playoffs,” Ullmark said. I felt like every time we played the Leafs and he (Joseph Woll) was in net, it felt like it was more of a challenge, even though I wasn’t a player. Just watching him, it seemed like he was much more in control of the situation that was thrown at him.”
Samsonov didn’t wait long to respond to Instagram today, just a few months after Ullmark’s initial rebuttal comments.
“#10” before adding another comment below his original message. “November 21st, keep quiet) or are you hurt again?” Samsonov commented.
Former Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov comments on an Instagram post, seemingly attacking current Senators and former Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark.
“November 21st, keep quiet or will you get hurt again?”

The Golden Knights and Senators will play for the first time during the 2024-25 season on Nov. 21 when the Golden Knights travel to Ottawa.
Samsonov deleted his comment shortly after, but it was more than enough time for fans to take screenshots.
