The Calgary Flames have signed defenseman Yan Kuznetsov and forward Adam Klapka to one-year, two-way contracts, the team announced Monday.
The deals will see both players earn $775,000 at the NHL level.

A native of Murmansk, Russia, Kuznestov spent time with the Flames and Wranglers last season. With the Wranglers, he scored five goals and added eight assists for 13 points in 63 regular season games. Kuznetsov also appeared in a game with the Flames, but was deemed useless.
Drafted by the Flames in the second round of the 2020 NHL Draft, Kuznetsov has played in 144 career AHL regular-season games and recorded 32 points.
A product of Prague, Czech Republic, Klapka had a similar split of play to Kuznetsov last season. In 65 regular season games with the Wranglers, he scored 21 goals and added 25 assists for 46 points. Klapka played in six regular season games for the Flames and scored one goal.
As Klapka and Kuznetsov head to training camp, each of the two could have a chance to leave the team straight out of the gates. With the Flames expected to have a younger team this season, Klapka and Kuznetsov should have some runway to show they are capable of playing in the NHL.
