White, a product of Boston, Massachusetts, spent time with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Montreal Canadiens last season. In Pittsburgh, White was held off the scoreboard in 11 games but scored 10 points in 21 regular-season games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Playing with the Canadiens, White was meaningless in 17 regular season games.

Drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the first round of the 2015 NHL Draft, White has played in 320 regular-season NHL games throughout his career and recorded 113 points.

As White prepares to head to San Jose, he will certainly play a big role with the Barracuda. White could also be a depth option for the Sharks. Although they had to sign White to an NHL deal before he could join them, the Sharks are expected to be a young team that will have its share of learning curves in 2024-25 and could benefit if they decide to pursue this path. .
