Here are the Blackhawks’ updated picks in the 2024 NHL Draft after trading for the 18th spot originally appeared in NBC Sports Chicago
On Friday, the Black Hawks moved up two positions in the 2024 NHL Draft with their second-round pick via a trade with the Islanders.
The Blackhawks acquired the No. 18 and No. 50 overall picks from the Islanders in exchange for the No. 20, No. 54 and No. 61 picks.
Previously, the Blackhawks had five choices in the second and third rounds combined, and they used their extra draft capital to move up from 20th to 18th and from 54th to 50th. second round.
Following the trade, the Blackhawks now have eight picks in the 2024 NHL Draft. Six of their eight picks are in the first three rounds of the draft.
