The Abbotsford Canucks announced that they have signed defenseman Layton Ahac to a one-year AHL contract.
Originally a third-round pick of the Vegas Golden Knights in 2019, Ahac played five seasons with the Henderson Silver Knights, recording one goal and 17 points in 148 total games.
Ahac joined the Silver Knights after two successful seasons at Ohio State University, where he scored 12 points in 63 games.
The 23-year-old was a BCHL Second Team All-Star and won a championship with the Prince George Spruce Kings in 2018-19.
The North Vancouver, BC native is strong defensively and took on more responsibilities with Henderson last season. He has the opportunity to play in his home province and hopes to help Abbotsford return to the Calder Cup playoffs.
