The Abbotsford Canucks have signed forward Carson Twarynski to a one-year contract, it was announced last week.

A product of Calgary, Alta., Twarynski spent time this season suiting up for the Vienna Capitals (ICEHL) and Bridgeport Islanders. In 27 games for Vienna, Twarynski had 13 points. With Bridgeport, he scored four goals and added four assists for eight points in 27 regular season games.

Drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the third round of the 2016 NHL Draft, Twarynski spent parts of four seasons in the Flyers organization before leaving. During that time, he attended 22 games for the Flyers and scored one goal.

Signing in the same province where he finished his junior career, Twarynski is a solid, deep signing for the Canucks. Having experience in the NHL, Twarynski will push for minutes and if he manages to surprise, he could even be an option for a call-up to Vancouver during the season.
