Igor Chernyshov is coming to (North) America.

Several reports, from Hockey News Hub for NHL.com Sergei Demidovconfirmed that the San Jose Sharks’ most recent second-round pick is leaving the Moscow Dynamo.

San Jose Hockey Now can confirm these reports.

Hockey News Hub reported that the 6-foot-4 Russian winger “has bought out the final year of his contract with Dynamo Moscow and terminated his agreement with the team on his own initiative.”

“He is very excited to go to San Jose. He says he will do everything he can to get there as quickly as possible,” Chernyshov said through a translator after the Draft.

Chernyshov’s CHL rights are held by the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL, who selected him in the most recent CHL Import Draft.

He is also eligible to play in the AHL or NHL once he signs his entry-level contract with the San Jose Sharks.
