TalkSPORT reported that he is the USA’s “leading candidate” to make a change to the team.
He would replace Gregg Berhalter, who was relieved of his duties.
Jurgen Klopp was linked with the vacant role after leaving Liverpool but squandered the opportunity.
The German insisted he does not plan to return to training anytime soon.
Berhalter was fired after the USA were eliminated early from the 2024 Copa América.
The team was eliminated from the tournament in the group stage after finishing third behind Uruguay and Panama.
He also led the team during the 2022 World Cup, but failed to progress beyond the round of 16.

Pochettino managed five clubs during his managerial career.
