Chelsea ace Lauren James and Manchester City goalkeeper Khiara Keating are among six nominees for the Professional Footballers’ Association’s young player of the year award.
James won the title last year and is nominated again after scoring 13 goals in 16 games to help the Blues win the Women’s Super League title.
Keating, 20, won the Golden Glove after keeping nine clean sheets and conceding the fewest goals in the league.
Also nominated were James’ Chelsea teammate Agnes Beever-Jones, Manchester United defender Maya le Tissier, Manchester City’s Jess Park and midfielder Grace Clinton, who spent the season on loan at Tottenham.
Beever-Jones scored 11 goals in his debut season at Chelsea, while Le Tissier was an ever-present in the league last season, also helping United keep a clean sheet when they beat Tottenham 4-0 in the FA Cup final.
Park was a key player for Gareth Taylor’s City in their title race with Chelsea, while Clinton scored four goals and managed four assists during his temporary spell away from Manchester United.
The winner will be announced on Tuesday, August 20th.
