Fernandes praised

Bruno Fernandes was praised by Rio Ferdinand for his time in attack against Man City.

He said on his Rio Reacts podcast: “One thing I would say I want to do with Bruno this season, he was playing on the false nine today, which is great. When Hojlund comes back, I just want to see Bruno higher up in the positions to just hurt teams.

“When he’s in the final third, there’s no other player on that team that I want to have the ball to pass to other players or to shoot. He’s majestic in those positions.”

Ferdinand’s reservations about De Ligt

Rio Ferdinand revealed his uncertainty about signing Matthijs de Ligt.

“He’s had a lot of injuries, he hasn’t started many games in the last two or three years and Man United are spending £45-50m on him,” he said, speaking on Rio Ferdinand Presents.

“Is he going to join Man United and make a difference?”

“I think it’s a big ask for him and all eyes will be on him. Big pressure, big opportunity for him, but I think there’s a lot of uncertainty with this signing because of his previous seasons with two big clubs that didn’t go so well. just as we would have predicted.”

Man Utd ‘want at least three’ more signings

Man Utd have already made significant investment in their squad this summer with the arrivals of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro and the imminent additions of Matthjis de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

However, speaking on his Playback channel, Fabrizio Romano suggested that Man Utd still have no plans to reduce their spending.

As quoted by GiveMeSport, he said: “Man United will attack the market.

“Man United want to sign at least three more, it could be four, and now we have the two players they wanted.

“Mazraoui and De Ligt to Manchester United and here we go, because the deal is done with Bayern.

“And we have to mention that Manchester United were successful in the negotiations because they closed the deal as they wanted.

“It was probably longer than expected, but it was worth it for Manchester United because they always wanted to include additions in both negotiations.”

De Ligt and Mazraoui medical examinations

Man Utd’s double deal for Bayern Munich defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui could be completed on Monday.

This is with Sky Sports in Germany reporting that their medical examinations will be completed on Monday, as they have already said goodbye to their teammates.

Andy Cole’s challenge

Manchester United legend Andy Cole has challenged Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee to score at least 25 goals each this season.

Cole said Betfred:

Everyone needs a full pre-season. When you miss a preseason or a few weeks, you’re always trying to catch up. When you go into the season trying to catch up, it gets a little difficult because everyone is a few weeks ahead of you.

Against Arsenal in pre-season, Rasmus looked fit and strong coming back from the Euros and those are his assets because he is a physical, old-fashioned striker.

I spoke to him briefly and he is looking forward to the new season. There’s no doubt he just wants to go out there and score as many goals as possible.

It’s been a while since Manchester United have had a striker who has scored 25 goals in a season, so it has to be one of Rasmus or Zirkzee or they could both score 15 goals each and then you have others contributing around them. .

According to Give me sportDalot has attracted interest from Real ahead of next year.

The same source claims that the right-back is tipped by key figures at the Santiago Bernabeu as a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal.

However, Los Blancos will not move for the Portuguese international until 2025.
