Connah’s Quay Nomads say they have “parted ways” with coach Neil Gibson just one game into the new Cymru Premier season.

In a brief statement, the club said: “We would like to thank Neil for his hard work and efforts since his appointment in August 2022 and wish him the best for the future.

“Further announcements will be made over the next 48 hours.”

Gibson led the Nomads to Welsh Cup success last season and oversaw the recent Europa Conference League campaign, which saw the Welsh side lose in the first qualifying round to Slovenian side NK Bravo.

They started the Cymru Premier season on Sunday with a 1-0 defeat at home to Haverfordwest County.
