TODD BOEHLY’S impressive £1.3bn spend on transfers has reached a major milestone.
The American has seen 38 new players join Stamford Bridge since taking charge in May 2022.
Chelsea currently boast a bloated squad of 48 players, including big-ticket purchases such as Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.
The two midfielders cost the club over £100 million each, while other players such as Mykhailo Mudryk and Christopher Nkunku also cost over £50 million each.
The club also recently acquired Pedro Neto from Wolves in a deal worth a further £54m.
Since taking charge of the club, Boehly has overseen the spending of £1.1 billion on new players.
That’s enough money to make Chelsea the club with the 10th biggest transfer spend in the history of English football.
The Blues are top of the list when they add up their previous deals, with a total of £3.31 billion spent on players in the club’s history.
This is more than the £2.45 billion spent by Manchester City and the £2.31 billion spent by Manchester United.
In the last two years, Chelsea have spent more than Everton, Leeds, Southampton and Fulham in their entire history.

The 20th club on the list is Bournemouth, while 19th is Nottingham Forest.
Chelsea’s last two years are just behind West Ham, who have spent £1.21 billion in their entire history.
This includes the wealth of talent brought to the London Stadium this summer, such as Jean-Clair Todibo, Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Boehly is also catching up to the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle, who have spent the most time in 8th and 7th place in their history.
Fans have been surprised by the club’s spending since the 2022 takeover.
One posted: “I mean, nonsense doesn’t even do it justice.”
A second commented: “Chelsea’s transfer wave is something else.”
A third wrote: “And still end up in the middle of the table haha.”
A fourth said: “Boehly spending all this money just to make the team worse.”
Another added: “This is just ridiculous.”
