MANCHESTER CITY star Oscar Bobb is facing a long layoff after fracturing his leg.
The winger has played regularly in pre-season for the champions and was tipped to continue his breakthrough campaign last time out.
But he fractured his leg during training with the Citizens and could spend months on the treatment table.
It’s a huge blow for the youngster who played 14 Premier League games last season, scoring once.
Bobb has also appeared in the Champions League and played 90 minutes in City’s penalty shootout victory over rivals Manchester United in the Community Shield last weekend.
The Norwegian provided the assist for Bernardo Silva’s late equalizer thanks to some magnificent skill.
Bobb has been tipped for great success this season, with analyst Jill Scott suggesting he could win the Player of the Year award during an appearance on Stick to Football.
He was reportedly set to be a big part of Pep Guardiola’s plans after the Spaniard gave the green light for Julian Alvarez to join Atletico Madrid in an £81.5m switch.
Guardiola praised the youngster after the Community Shield and hinted that he could take on a more important role this season.
He said: “We want more. Sometimes he had the chance to get the ball and leave and he was a little passive.

“He has something unique; being stopped and then going, first one or two steps, to the right or to the left, are unbelievable.
“The goal, the way he turns and crosses, enormous quality. He has incredible values and work ethic. He has the ability to do that and he can do it more regularly.”
