NINE Chelsea stars will be axed to balance the books at Stamford Bridge.
Todd Boehly and Clearlake are desperately trying to raise another £200 million in the hope of avoiding a potential Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) penalty.
Chelsea have spent just under £1.2 billion in two years and are under investigation for possible financial breaches during Roman Abramovich’s reign.
While the Blues have a knack for selling players for more money than they are worth – Mason Mount’s £60m move to Manchester United, for example – they will have to offload a lot more this summer.
Chelsea have seen the league’s PSR regulations ring true with the punishments handed down to Everton and Nottingham Forest and will have to do what they can to avoid points deduction.
Academy graduates represent “pure profit” when it comes to PSR and any sale would go a long way towards helping Chelsea get some cash in the bank to spend on the new arrivals.

Conor Gallagher – £35 million
Gallagher, 24, is set to return to Chelsea training after his £35m move to Atletico Madrid went up in smoke.
Chelsea had hoped to sell their academy graduate and sign Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion – but the latter failed to average in west London.
They turned to striker João Félix when the move failed, but the Spanish declared all deals off.
Ben Chilwell – £20 million
Chilwell cost Chelsea £50m when he arrived from Leicester in 2020, but his shares have since plummeted.
So much so that Chelsea could be willing to move him for around £20m this summer.
Chilwell was widely criticized by some of the fans last season and was injured a lot.
Romelu Lukaku – £39 million
Lukaku’s last appearance for the club came in May 2022 – there are four coaches.
The Belgian striker – who was loaned to Inter Milan and Roma in the last two seasons – has a contract until June 2026.
But he has a bad relationship with Chelsea and is desperate to get out – even willing to take a pay cut at Napoli.
He is currently being considered in a swap deal with Victor Osimhen, but Napoli also want cash and Cesare Casadei in addition to the £90m asking price.
Trevoh Chalobah – £25 million
Chalobah has been at Chelsea since 2007, when he joined the club’s youth system at the age of eight.
But he was exiled from Enzo Maresca’s plans ahead of the new season and is therefore training with the ‘bomb squad’ with Gallagher.
Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are said to be interested in the 25-year-old.
Kepa Arrizabalaga – £10m
Kepa Arrizabalaga joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao for a whopping £72 million in 2018.
Kepa – who was loaned to Real Madrid last year – holds the record as the most expensive goalkeeper of all time.
Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic took turns in goal last season, and Filip Jorgensen has just arrived from Villarreal for £21m.

Noni Madueke – £30 million
Madueke has been linked with Newcastle in recent days, according to The Mail.
The winger arrived at PSV in January 2023 and ended last season as one of former coach Mauricio Pochettino’s main players.
David Datro Fofana – £15m
Fofana arrived at Chelsea from Molde in January last year for around £8 million.
The 21-year-old played four times for the Blues before spending last season on loan at Union Berlin and then Burnley last season.
Armando Broja – £10m
Broja is another player who was effectively excluded by being excluded from the first-team circle.
The 22-year-old Albanian striker has scored two goals in 26 Premier League appearances for Chelsea.
He is likely to be shipped off this summer, with Stuttgart and Wolves interested.
