And Dutch World Cup legend Johnny Rep told SunSport: “Arne has everything to fill Klopp’s big shoes boots and it is possible that he will win the Premier League in his first year.

“Arne did great things at Feyenoord, winning the league and cup, and I can’t wait to see him do the same at Liverpool.

“He has all the credentials to manage a club as big as Liverpool because he is simply an excellent coach.”

The Reds agreed a £9m-plus compensation deal with Feyenoord for Slot, 45, before finalizing a personal deal at Anfield with him.

Klopp, 56, announced in January that he would resign at the end of this season after nine years.

During this time, the German won the Champions League, Premier League, FIFA Club World Cup, European Super Cup, FA Cup and two League Cups.

Slot snubbed Spurs, hates defending and has a PASS named after him

By Dan King

LIVERPOOL manager target Arne Slot was a good enough player to have a passing style named after him.

But it is as a coach that the Feyenoord boss is really making his mark.

Like another bald Dutchman, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, Slot made a name for himself managing smaller teams before getting the chance to play for one of the Dutch big three.

But the question Liverpool are pondering is whether Slot could manage one of the world’s biggest clubs better than Ten Hag have so far at Old Trafford.

Slot, 45, was certainly easier on the eyes as a player than defender Ten Hag.

“The Arne Slot Ball” was something he perfected like a silky number 10 – a 180-degree turn back to goal, first time, and a movement behind the defensive line for a winger to run into the middle of the opposition field.

Klopp masterminded the 2020 Prem crown – a 19th top-flight title that leaves them one behind rivals Manchester United’s record 20.

But Rep, 72, one of Holland’s greats, who won two European Cups with Ajax and played in the 1974 and 1978 World Cup finals, insists Slot can bring “Total Football” to Anfield.

The former Rep winger, who is the Netherlands’ top scorer at World Cups with seven goals, added: “Arne was influenced by Johan Cruyff’s Total Football and loves putting his team ahead.

“But while the attacking side of his game stands out the most, his teams are also adept defensively.

“He will also improve Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch and bring some Feyenoord players with him.”

Lutsharel Geertruida has already hinted that he could become Slot’s first signing for Liverpool.

Geertruida, 23, posted a photo of the Reds’ 2-2 draw with West Ham on social media.

Arne Slot’s track record is WORSE than Erik ten Hag’s

ARNE SLOT will have an almost impossible task – replacing Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

If he switches from the Eredivisie to the Premier League, Slot will follow in the footsteps of fellow Dutchman Erik ten Hag, who has folk challenges.

Ten Hag left Ajax to become manager of Manchester United in 2022.

But he suffered a nightmare at Old Trafford and looks like a dead man despite reaching the FA Cup final.

With Slot seemingly destined for Anfield, fans won’t be able to help but compare his record in the Netherlands to that of Ten Hag.

And Reds fans won’t like what they see.
