1 Chelsea 0 x 0 Tottenham

Just a quick reminder:

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation against Tottenham, making just one change from the team that drew 2-2 with Aston Villa on Saturday.

Djordje Petrovic starts in goal with Alfie Gilchrist – replacing Thiago Silva – at right-back and Marc Cucurella on the other side, while Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile link up at centre-back.

Moises Caicedo and captain Conor Gallagher link up in midfield with star forward Cole Palmer at number 10.

Noni Madueke covers the right flank with Mykhailo Mudryk on the other side while Nicolas Jackson leads the attack.

Here come the teams!

Stamford Bridge is set to host tonight’s London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham.

The Blues are pushing for a late European push while Spurs battle Aston Villa for a top four finish.

The hosts are led onto the field by captain Conor Gallagher, while Son Heung-min wears the visitors’ esteemed armband.

Conte’s shocking report

Chelsea have sent former manager Antonio Conte a lucrative offer to return to Stamford Bridge, according to sensational reports.

Conte, 54, was sacked by the Blues in the summer of 2018 after two seasons in charge.

Since then, the Italian tactician has worked for fierce London rivals Tottenham, who the West Londoners face tonight, for whom he was sacked last March after an explosive speech and has been a free agent ever since.

According to La RepúblicaChelsea have been in “close contact” with the former Juventus manager in recent days.

The same report adds that Conte has emerged as a serious target to replace current manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino, 52, will have one year left on his contract at the end of the season.

James Maddison Surprise

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou opted to put star James Maddison on the bench against London rivals Chelsea.

That’s pretty much the only major shock in both Premier League teams’ starting lineups.

Hopefully Postecoglou can explain why he decided to drop Maddison for this important game as Spurs look to finish in the top four with Aston Villa ahead of them.

The Australian tactician has opted for Brennan Johnson, who will lead a crowded attack alongside Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and captain Son Heung-min.

Milestone by Son Heung-min

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min is set to play his 299th Premier League game amid an impressive nine-year spell in north London.

That puts Son in third place, alongside Darren Anderton, among Spurs’ top players in the English top flight, behind Hugo Lloris (361) and Harry Kane (317).

However, the playmaker will have to do better tonight against Chelsea as he has scored just two goals in 18 appearances against the Blues in all competitions.

The South Korean international has failed to hit the target in any of his last 10 matches against the West Londoners.
