CHELSEA are planning a shock move to bring a former Arsenal star back to London.
Transfer business between the clubs has grown in recent years, with Jorginho and Kai Havertz leaving the Blues for the Emirates.
But this playmaker last played in the Premier League nine years ago and has since won several major awards in Italy.
Now Mauricio Pochettino could reportedly move to try and snap him up and resolve a problematic position.
Todd Boehly has spent more than £1 billion on players since taking charge at Stamford Bridge.
This led to goalkeepers Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic arriving at the club.
The 26-year-old Spaniard began the campaign as a starter after joining from Brighton last summer.
However, an injury allowed Serbian Petrovic, who arrived in August from the New England Revolution, the chance to shine and he has held the top spot ever since.
But Everything Juve is suggesting that Poch is still not satisfied with his goalkeeping options.
And they claim that Chelsea could make another signing in that department, targeting Juventus’ Wojciech Szczesny.

The 34-year-old is believed to be available for around £8.5m and Monza’s Michele Di Gregorio is already looking to replace him.
He still has a year left on his contract, which is widely reported to be worth around £125,000 a week.
But the Italian club wants to reduce its wage bill and the Polish international is one of those who are said to be prepared to listen to offers.
Szczesny has made 32 Serie A appearances so far this season and has kept 15 clean sheets, ranking third in the top flight.
He already has experience in England, having spent 11 years at Arsenal since 2006, when he joined the academy from Legia Warsaw.
The playmaker made his debut under Arsene Wenger in 2009 and played 181 times for the Gunners after gaining experience on loan at Brentford.
Dave Kidd: Why I voted for Cole Palmer to be footballer of the year despite Chelsea’s problems

By Dave Kidd
Voting for the Footballer of the Year award closes on Tuesday and, unlike many, I went for Cole Palmer.
Most members of the Football Writers’ Association vote starting with the likely Prem champions and working backwards. Thus, the winner will be Phil Foden, Rodri, Declan Rice or Martin Odegaard.
There is disagreement over whether a player from a less successful team wins, such as mid-table Spurs’ David Ginola in Manchester United’s winning year of 1999.
But enjoying a great individual season on a bad team is a greater achievement.
And for Palmer – just 21 and in his first season as a regular starter – to have scored 23 goals and 13 assists in a team as complicated as Chelsea makes him this season’s best player.

He remains a popular figure among fans after helping them to two FA Cup victories.
However, he got tired of waiting to be number 1 and, after a two-year loan at Roma, he left permanently for Juventus in 2017.
Since then, he has won Serie A three times and also has two Coppa Italia medals in his collection.
Szczesny played 249 times in total for the Old Lady.
