SIR JIM RATCLIFFE has reportedly sent an email to Manchester United staff criticizing the lack of cleanliness in the club’s facilities.

The co-owner has been very active in recent weeks, but his actions have not always been well received.

And now Ratcliffe has complained about low staff standards which have allowed Old Trafford and Carrington to become untidy.

The Ineos boss visited the facilities earlier this year and met staff and players, but was shocked by the lack of cleanliness, calling the tidiness of the IT department a “disgrace”, according to Atlético.

The email adds “frankly, the under-18 and under-21 changing rooms” weren’t much better.

United’s standards fell below what was expected from an Ineos company, with Ratcliffe concerned about the negative impression it could make on visitors, particularly potential signings.

Some employees were shocked to receive the email, while others believe it had been a long time coming and they needed to improve the performance of some colleagues.

Earlier this week, Ineos warned colleagues that unacceptable standards could lead to benefits such as Christmas parties being withdrawn.

It comes after the club made cuts to FA Cup final benefits for staff, offering them just one free ticket and getting rid of the free transport, food and accommodation they have been offered in recent years.

In the past, United offered tickets to all of its 1,100 employees, while senior staff and directors could bring friends and family.

Travel to and from the stadium, food before the game, post-game party and hotel accommodation were also paid for by the club.

But staff have been told they will only receive one ticket for the game, and will also have to pay £20 for bus travel to and from Wembley on the day of the match.
