MANCHESTER CITY will sell striker Liam Delap to the highest bidder.

Delap, 21, joined Hull on loan after spells at Stoke and Preston and is clearly unlikely to be part of Pep Guardiola’s starting XI in the near future.

City will want around £10 million for the England Under-21 striker and could include a “buy-back” clause in any deal.

The striker is the son of former Premier League star Rory Delap.

His father, now 47, starred for Stoke City, among others – and became renowned around the Potteries for his incredible long throw.

City youngster Liam joined the Prem champions’ academy from Derby in 2019.

He has played six times for City’s first team, scoring once – during the League Cup victory over Bournemouth in September 2020.

Delap followed in his father’s footsteps by playing for Stoke during the 2022-23 season – scoring three goals in 23 appearances.

In January 2023, he was called up by City and sent to Preston, where he scored once in 15 games.

His best loan spell was at Hull this season, where he helped Liam Rosenior’s side to a seventh-place finish.

The Tigers missed out on their play-off place on the final day, losing 1-0 to Plymouth Argyle.

He scored eight goals in 31 league games for Hull.

Delap still has two years left on his City contract.

But this could be the summer he leaves the club behind.
