Liverpool team initial news
Reds gaffer Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update ahead of this afternoon’s clash at Anfield.
“[Diogo Jota] He is not in team training. Conor (Bradley) is there, Virgil (Van Dijk) wasn’t there, but he was supposed to be part of the team’s training today, so we’ll see what we do there.”
Tough race for both
It’s been a tough few weeks for both teams.
Tottenham were beaten in the London derbies, with a 3-2 defeat to Arsenal followed by a 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
Ange Postecoglu was incessant on the touchline in this last game, so we’ll see if his anger had an impact on his team today.
As for Liverpool, they performed exceptionally well until losing the Merseyside derby to Everton.
Their title race was derailed in that game but completely derailed when they drew 2-2 with West Ham last weekend.
Last time they met
This game was incredible last time and ended 2-1 to Tottenham in the reverse fixture.
Curtis Jones was sent off in the 26th minute away from home, but Liverpool fought valiantly with 10 men.
Son Heung-min opened the scoring in the 36th minute, but it was all level before the break, with Cody Gakpo equalizing through an assist from Virgil van Dijk.
Welcome to Liverpool vs Tottenham!
Good afternoon and welcome to Liverpool x Tottenham, today’s final football match in the Premier League!
Both teams have been going through a rough patch lately and Spurs are fighting for a top four spot today.
As for Liverpool, the season is all but over – they were actually in the title race before losing points to Everton and then Crystal Palace in the last two weeks.
It won’t be an easy game for either team and we’re not really sure what to expect, but whatever we get, I’m sure it will be great!
