May 5 – HAGERSTOWN – Allie Scritchfield scored five goals for Calvary, leading the Eagles to an 11-0 victory over Heritage on Thursday.
Scritchfield scored twice in the first half and had three goals in the second half for the Eagles (6-3).
“This was a great performance for this team with two games left until the start of the MDCC playoffs,” Calvary coach Bill Scritchfield said. “Everyone on the team contributed in this game.”
Scritchfield also assisted on two goals, including the first goal of the game at 8:06.
She sent a corner kick to Bethany Carrington, who knocked the ball out of the air and kicked it into the corner to put Calvary up 1-0.
Carrington slid the ball to Scritchfield for their first goal at 16:22.
Carrington and Scritchfield connected again at 20:07.
Traci Michael started in goal for Calvary, but switched to wing and set up Carrington at 21:32 to put the Eagles up 4-0 at halftime.
Calvary outscored Heritage 14-5 in the first half.
In the second half, Reagan Weeks scored on an assist from Lauren Engle at 47:28.
Less than a minute later, Weeks found Scritchfield at 48:06.
Scritchfield scored an unassisted goal from outside the 18-yard box at 48:46.
Carrington completed a hat trick at 50:35 after an assist from Weeks.
Scritchfield received a pass from Engle and sent a long ball over the goalkeeper’s head for her fifth goal at 61:06.
Michael found the net exactly two minutes later following a Scritchfield throw-in.
Arianna Shillingburg scored an unassisted goal at 75:15 to round out the scoring.
The Eagles finished with a 28-6 advantage in shots and 8-3 in corners.
The cavalry had the advantage in shots 28-6 and also in corners 8-3.
Selah Livengood saved four shots for the Eagles, while Michael added one.
Alesha Terry saved 11 shots for Heritage.
