ERIK TEN HAG has been criticized by Jamie Carragher for his “embarrassing” decision to play Casemiro at centre-back.

The Brazilian midfielder started in defense for United, who reached half-time trailing 2-0 to Crystal Palace.

And the former Real Madrid star was criticized for his save on Palace’s first goal, scored by Michael Olise.

Carragher said: “Listen, he’s playing out of position tonight, but that has nothing to do with playing out of position.

“That could be a midfield role. That’s embarrassing. They need to take him off. He needs to get off the field.

“Honestly, nothing could be worse than Casemiro playing as a defender right this second.”

Carragher called on right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to fill the central role, with Casemiro on the bench.

But the Champions League winner remained on the field.
