Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo says he is “disappointed” at the failure of the club’s appeal against the four-point deduction.
Forest missed a feature against breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) this week, with a three-person independent board backing the original decision.
This means Forest remain in 17th place, three points above the relegation zone, with two games remaining.
“We were all disappointed,” said Nuno.
“We had hope and belief because we won the points on the field, which they [the Premier League] I could return them, but the decision is over, there is no point in continuing to talk about the subject.”
Nuno added that the failed appeal had at least provided the club with clarity and that Forest’s hopes of survival were “in our hands”.
