London Pulse kept the pressure on Netball Super League leaders Manchester Thunder with a gutsy 58-53 victory over Surrey Storm.

Olivia Tchine led the Pulse at the Copper Box Arena by scoring 41 goals, while Berri Neil scored 17.

The Pulse have 33 points from 13 matches and are level with Thunder and Loughborough Lightning, although the Manchester side have played one game less.

“I’m proud of the resilience shown by the players. It was a stressful game, but stressful in a good way,” Pulse director of netball Sam Bird told Sky Sports.

“I want us to play an exciting brand of netball. The fans loved what they saw.”

The Lightning had a much more straightforward victory as they won 76-51 away to Team Bath, with Mary Cholhok scoring 41 goals.

Elsewhere, Joyce Mvula scored 40 goals and Harriet Jones 19 as Leeds Rhinos 59-49 beat Saracens Mavericks in Sheffield.

Thunder face Cardiff Dragons at 5pm BST on Saturday in a match that will be broadcast live on the BBC Sport website.
