Both teams are now in the tunnel, with some smiles from the Forest players as they know they have almost confirmed safety.

The fans know it too, and the City Ground has a good voice as the players take to the pitch.

How are the teams?

17:25 , Chris Wilson

It’s not long before kickoff, so a reminder of the possible permutations for both sides.

Nottingham Forest are close to the relegation zone with 29 points, having played one game less than Luton, in 18th place. A draw would mathematically guarantee safety before the final day at previously relegated Burnley. Even if they fail to win, it would be nothing short of a miracle for Forest to go down on the final day – i.e. a 13-goal advantage on goal difference in favor of Luton.

Chelsea have a lot less to worry about, but they are still looking for a place in Europe and, potentially, the Europa League.

Pochettino’s team is in seventh place, one place below Newcastle and one above Manchester United. They are three points behind the Magpies and ahead of United due to a much superior goal difference.

A win would be a vital step towards European qualification ahead of the final two games, against Brighton and Bournemouth respectively.

Forest go into the game 17th in the league and just three points above the relegation zone, meaning they are at serious risk of dropping if they lose to Chelsea today. The 3-1 victory over relegation rivals Sheffield United on the last day keeps them in a good position, but Nuno Espírito Santo’s team will have to raise their level if they want to add points to a Chelsea team that is gaining strength.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues are unbeaten in their last three games and defeated David Moyes’ West Ham 5-0 last time out to move up to seventh in the table. They are targeting a place in next season’s European competitions and need to keep winning if they are to finish above Newcastle and Manchester United.
