DONNY VAN DE BEEK’S agent claims Manchester United are blocking a move to another Premier League club.
Van de Beek, 27, joined United in 2020 following a £40m deal from Ajax but has failed to live up to expectations since.
The star fell out of favor and spent the second half of the season on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he also failed to stand out.
Eintracht have an option to buy the Dutch international this summer for £9.5m but will not trigger that clause.
Van de Beek met with his former agent Guido Albers, who confirmed that his client will return to the Red Devils in June.
Albers shed some light on the attacking midfielder’s future by confirming he is eyeing a move to LaLiga, Serie A or Ligue 1.
The Dutch ace’s representative is convinced there will be no deal with another Prem club because United refuse to sell to the competition, although they have no plans for him.
The Manchester giants have already loaned the versatile midfielder to Everton but are not interested in another similar deal.
This is not the first time United have messed up a deal involving Van de Beek, as they also backed out of a move to Real Sociedad this summer because manager Erik ten Hag decided to keep him.
It was also revealed that Van de Beek will not return to Ajax.

Albers told ESPN’s Goedemorgen Eredivisie: “I think it’s wonderful, he’s been away from me for a while.
“For me it is a very good moment in your career to start again. We said together: ‘Back to basics’.
“He’s lost that a bit in recent years. He’s hungry and eager to please. I’ve reached an agreement with Frankfurt for him.
“Frankfurt still had an option until June 30, which it will not exercise. Officially, he is now returning to Manchester United and I am speaking to him.
“Donny doesn’t want to stay in the Premier League, especially because United don’t want that. This is not a good choice for him.
“He needs to return to a club that plays good football. In any case, he will not return to Ajax.
“My preference was to look for Spain, Italy or France. If I managed to sign him in Spain or Italy, it would be fantastic, at a club where he will play as number 10, as he did at Ajax.
“You see that the Dutch have a certain success in Spanish or Italian football.
“He was very close to being transferred to Real Sociedad last summer. This was canceled at the last minute because Erik ten Hag wanted to keep it until the last minute.
