Earlier today, Arsenal announced that the striker’s seven-year spell at the club will end when the current Women’s Super League season concludes this weekend.

Her contract with the club expires at the end of this season, with the player leaving as a free agent.

The Daily Mail claims the prolific striker, who is the WSL’s all-time top scorer with 79 goals, is attracting interest from Man City and other clubs.

Of Miedema’s efforts for Arsenal, the club’s sporting director Edu said: “Viv’s goals and overall performance as an Arsenal player were of the highest quality.

“She has created so many wonderful memories for us over the years.

“We thank Viv for her enormous contribution to the team’s success during the seven years she was with us.

“We wish Viv and her family good health and happiness for the future.”

Following his move to England from Bayern Munich in 2017, Miedema scored 125 goals and 50 assists in 172 appearances for the Gunners.

And the Dutch striker, who is also the Netherlands’ all-time leading goalscorer, won three league cups and a WSL title with the club.

During her Arsenal career, Miedema finished as top scorer in the top flight on two occasions.

This includes the 2018-19 season, where his 20 goals in 22 games helped the club become WSL champions for the third time.

This season has seen Miedema’s playing time limited to 13 matches, with the striker undergoing minor knee surgery in March.

The operation took place five months after she returned from an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury suffered in December 2022.

Miedema’s side, who are third in the table, will host Brighton at Meadow Park on Saturday in their final WSL game this season.
