Crystal Palace are yet to lose a Premier League game under Oliver Glasner when Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta were named in the starting line-up.

The Austrian coach was once again able to count on his attacking trio at full strength on Saturday, with each scoring a goal to win Wolves in Molineuxwith Olise also assisting Eze’s goal.

In fact, since Glasner’s arrival, only title contenders Manchester City and Arsenal have scored more points in the Premier League.

Glasner’s predecessor, Roy Hodgson, bore the brunt of Palace’s injury concerns this season when Eze and Olise were sidelined for periods at the start of 2024.

Because of injuries and suspensions, Hodgson and Glasner have only managed to start their three preferred strikers in seven games this season – winning six of those games and suffering just one defeat.

In his last 12 games in charge of the Premier League, Hodgson has recorded two wins, three draws and seven defeats – with the Eagles’ only two victories coming when the trio were named in the starting line-up by the English manager.

In his first 12 games in charge of the Premier League, Glasner recorded six wins, three draws and three defeats – with four of those victories coming when the trio were named starters by the Austrian manager.

Glasner has the Eagles on the rise again – but it cannot simply be said that he has those players any more at his disposal than Hodgson did before his departure.

In the same two periods, Hodgson named the trio as starters three times, while Glasner only managed to do so four times.

It appears that Glasner has managed to unlock his attacking ability in a way that has gone beyond Hodgson.

And Palace fans aren’t complaining.
