ANGE POSTECOGLOU got into a fight with a fan and then criticized the state of the club as the Tottenham manager lost his temper.

The Australian was furious when Spurs lost 2-0 to Manchester City in a defeat that ended their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

In the build-up to the crucial game, Postecoglou was unhappy with suggestions that his team would not mind losing to help prevent rivals Arsenal from winning the championship.

He said: “I understand the rivalry, but I have never understood and will never understand if someone wants their own team to lose. That’s not what sport is about.”

But the atmosphere inside the stadium last night was strangely calm, despite it being such a crucial game in Tottenham’s season.

And some fans were even seen jokingly celebrating City’s goals.

While on the touchline during the match, Postecoglou was involved in an altercation with a fan.

Shocking video has emerged of him shouting at a fan sitting behind his team’s dugout.

The 58-year-old boss gets angry and points at a supporter, saying: “Just so I know who you are.”

It is unclear what angered Postecoglou and what else is said in the video.

And the coach did not calm down when he spoke at a press conference after Erling Haaland’s double defeat at Spurs.

Appearing outraged by some people’s attitude towards the game, Postecoglou said: “The last 48 hours have revealed that the foundations are quite fragile.

“That’s what I feel. The last 48 hours have revealed a lot to me.

“But that just means I have to go back to the drawing board with some things.

“It’s out there, in it, everywhere. It’s been an interesting exercise.”

Asked what he meant by reporter, Postecoglou replied: “Those are my observations, man. I’m not going to tell you because it’s for me.

“I am the one who should do this so that you can make your own assessment of what happened.

“I understand that I probably misinterpreted the situation, considering what I consider important and in their effort to become a winning team. But it’s okay, that’s why I’m here.

“I want to be successful at this football club, that’s why I was hired.

“So what other people, how they want to feel and what their priorities are, is of no interest to me.

“I know what is important to build a winning team, that’s what I need to focus on.

“It is what it is, man. I can’t dictate what people do. [the fans] They can express themselves however they want.

“But yes, when we have late winners in games it is because the fans helped us.

“I already know what I want to do, I just need to make some adjustments to how I do it.”

Tottenham’s defeat means they will play in the Europa League next season and Aston Villa will secure the final Champions League spot.

Spurs’ form has been disastrous in recent weeks, winning just three of their last ten games.

And it’s not the first time Postecoglou has lost his cool, most recently losing his cool 2-0 to Chelsea in May.

He shouted to his players on the outside, “stop passing backwards.”

And when asked about his team’s poor performance, he said: “It’s not good enough and I have to take responsibility for that, that’s my fault.

“I’m the coach, I’m the one promoting them and it wasn’t good enough.

“Like I said, I need to look at myself in all of this and see how I can make the most impact.”

Then asked if his message was getting through to the players, an irritated Postecoglou said: “Come on, man. We didn’t play well.

“What do you want me to sit there and write a dossier on where we went wrong?”

Man City taking all three points last night leaves them two points clear of Arsenal heading into the final game of the season.

The champions, who are looking to win a fourth title in a row, need to beat West Ham at home on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Arsenal need to beat Everton and hope the Hammers do them a favor at the Etihad.
