Neville, 49, said: “I couldn’t walk into a changing room thinking there’s someone I’m not talking to.”

However, Rooney, 38, revealed that during his time at Man Utd there was one player who could certainly do that, Nemanja Vidic.

Speaking about the Serbian enforcer, who won five Premier League titles as a defender for the Red Devils, Rooney said: “I would talk to everyone, but do you remember Vidic?

“He was arguing with someone and I remember he didn’t speak to Giggsy (Ryan Giggs) for six months. He didn’t speak to Patrice (Evra) for months.

“He would argue with someone and just not talk to them.”

Rooney, known for his temper in his youth, then recalled his own falling out with Vidic.

“I had an argument with him once and he was falling the same way and I pulled him up and said, ‘Grow up, what’s wrong with you? We’re teammates.’

“Giggsy didn’t bother to speak to him at that time and it went on for months and he was the captain.”

Arsenal icon Wright, 60, then asked if the disagreement had affected the way the team played.
