THOMAS TUCHEL is expected to REMAIN at Bayern Munich beyond the summer despite announcing his departure in February.
The former Chelsea manager agreed to resign earlier this year after falling behind in the Bundesliga title race.
At a press conference, he said: “We have agreed that we will end our collaboration after the end of this season.
“Until then, my coaching team and I will of course continue to do everything in our power to ensure maximum success for FC Bayern.”
However, Tuchel is now expected to TO STAY at the Allianz Arena.
According to the transferred journalist Florian Plettenberghe is in talks with Bayern Munich over a new contract.
If he decides to stay, the 50-year-old will likely sign a two-year contract.
Bayern bosses began the search for a new manager after Tuchel announced his departure in the summer.
However, they were unable to find anyone for the job.
Xabi Alonso refused the club’s proposal to stay at Bayer Leverkusen.

Julian Nagelsmann was another name on the list, but he rejected an approach at the start of this season.
Ralf Rangnick also rejected the offer, deciding to remain as coach of the Austrian national team.
And new Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, who moved to Selhurst Park just three months ago, was the latest to turn down Bayern last week.
Despite beginning talks with Tuchel over a new deal, Bayern are still considering two Premier League managers.
Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi and Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag are on the club’s list.
Ten Hag could be sacked by United this summer due to his side’s inconsistent form.
Tuchel has been linked with the Old Trafford job along with Gareth Southgate and Graham Potter.
