GETAFE’S hopes of keeping Mason Greenwood could be fading as the Spanish side are linked with another top striker.
Greenwood is unlikely to return to parent club Manchester United, but a Saudi Pro League club is expected to offer more than £50 million for the Englishman.
Barcelona, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are also interested in the 22-year-old.
But despite so much interest from richer rivals, Getafe publicly insist they believe their loan principal will remain with them until “at least January”.
However, reports in Spain estimate that the LaLiga mid-table club are also considering a bid for Real Sociedad’s Umar Sadiq.
The 27-year-old Nigerian striker has a contract until 2028 but has struggled to regain his best form since injuring his ankle two years ago.
And this season he has scored just three goals in 36 games in LaLiga, the Spanish Cup and the Europa League.
That faltering form means Sociedad coach Imanol now prefers Portuguese stars Andre Silva and Sheraldo Becker to Sadiq in attack.
However, Getafe are considered great admirers of the former Roma’s failure.
And it reinforces suggestions that their chances of keeping Old Trafford academy product Greenwood are weaker than they expected.

However, they publicly expressed their confidence in maintaining him for the next term.
Torres told Spanish radio station Radio Marca this week: “If it were up to the boy, his parents and the club, I think he would stay for another year.
“In relation to Manchester United, the news from last week, where the sporting director went to England and was with them, is that, if a good offer came in, they would want to sell because he is not going back there.
“We will have to wait until the end of June. The people and the coach are very happy with him.
“I think he will stay with us for another season, or at least until January.”
