But there is one anthem that unites football and boxing fans – many of them big supporters of both sports.

In fact, the hit has become so popular that English fans sing Sweet Caroline before and after most football matches.
But what is the reason?
Why do England fans sing Sweet Caroline?
Aston Villa and Chelsea fans will be well aware of Sweet Caroline being played at Stamford Bridge and Villa Park.
And boxing fans have been known to sing Sweet Caroline at the top of their lungs, especially during Anthony Joshua fights.
In a chat with talkSPORTWembley DJ Tony Parry made the decision to play Sweet Caroline in the victory over Germany.
He chose instead the coup of France 98 at Vindaloo.
“I was going to play ‘Vindaloo,’ but I went with my instinct,” he said of deciding to perform Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline.
“Even the German fans sang at the end. It’s a song that all fans can enjoy.
“The match director said in my ear ‘the world has been closed for 18 months… let them have it’.”
What are the lyrics to Sweet Caroline?
Where it all began, I can’t begin to know
But then I know it’s getting strong
It was in the spring
And spring became summer
Who would have believed you would come
Hands touching hands
Reaching out, touching me, touching you
Sweet Caroline
Good times never looked so good
I’ve been leaning
To believe that they never would
But now I
Look at the night and it doesn’t seem so lonely
We fill it with just two
And when I got hurt
The pain flows from my shoulders
How can I get hurt when I hug you
One, touching one
Reaching out, touching me, touching you
Sweet Caroline
Good times never looked so good
I’ve been leaning
To believe that they never would
Oh no, no
Sweet Caroline
Good times never looked so good
Sweet Caroline
I believe they never could
Sweet Caroline
Good times never looked so good
