David Beckham admitted that his “mates are going to kill him” as he was asked about his thoughts on his former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp officiated his final game for the Merseyside side on Sunday (May 19) after announcing he was leaving the club at the start of the season.

Beckham, 49, was asked about the possibility of Klopp being involved in American soccer.

The president of Inter Miami CF told SmartLess podcast on Monday: “Even though I’m a Man Utd fan, I love Jurgen. I love his character, his personality and what he brings to the sport.

“I’m going to be killed by some of my Man United teammates, I’m sad to see him go. What he did for the club and the sport was incredible.”
