Gareth Southgate will today name his provisional England squad for this summer’s European Championship In Germany.
The England manager is expected to select a squad of 30-32 players as he faces numerous injury headaches.
Around 10 English players are expected to miss warm-up friendlies against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland due to their involvement in the FA Cup and Champions League finals.
The squad will then be reduced to 26 players within a few weeks. England will present their final squad to UEFA at midnight on June 7th, before it is announced on June 8th.

Southgate today names a ‘training squad’, which is likely to feature around 30 players to offset uncertainty over injuries.
Some of these players will be disappointed when the squad is reduced to 26 players.
The deadline for submitting final Euro 2024 selections is June 7, as teams must submit their list at least seven days before the opening match of the tournament.

Left-back is proving to be a problematic position for Southgate after Luke Shaw suffered a setback while recovering from injury. Before the FA Cup final, his manager, Erik ten Hag, suggested that he may not be fit in time for the tournament.
England’s first-choice left-back Ben Chilwell has also suffered injuries, while Kieran Trippier has had a difficult season at Newcastle. Joe Gomez has played in the position for Liverpool this season. Tyrick Mitchell, Lewis Hall or Rico Lewis could be out of the running.
At least one high-profile striker is expected to be left out of the final squad due to England’s wealth of attacking talent. Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish have been England’s mainstays under Southgate, but facing the emergence of Anthony Gordon, Ollie Watkins and Cole Palmer means greater competition.
Meanwhile, Harry Kane is confident he will be fully fit for Euro 2024 despite missing Bayern Munich’s penultimate game of the season through injury.
Kane suffered a back injury that forced him to be sidelined during Bayern’s Champions League semi-final defeat to Real Madrid and missed his club’s final home game of the season.
However, sources close to Kane insist that your injury layoff is largely preventative and that he will be “100 percent” fit for Euro 2024, as long as he does not suffer any new injuries.
