KEVIN DE BRUYNE is reportedly in transfer talks following his shock departure from Manchester City to a club he has never played for.
San Diego FC was created last year after winning a bid from Las Vegas to become the MLS franchise’s 30th team.
The team will be based in Southern California and will not compete until 2025, after moving to the 35,000-seat Snapdragon Stadium.
So far, San Diego has just three players: American goalkeeper Duran Feree, Danish midfielder Jeppe Tverskov and Danish forward Marcus Ingvartsen.
The trio are currently on loan elsewhere until San Diego joins MLS next year.
But the ambitious new club want to add shine before the first game after adding Sergio Ramos to their roster.
AND Atlético claims they are also trying to land Man City superstar De Bruyne in an audacious coup.
It is estimated that the Belgian side has held talks with the American side.
But a move this summer looks unlikely, with De Bruyne set to stay at City for at least another year.
His £400,000-a-week contract expires in 2025 and he remains an important player under Pep Guardiola.

However, the City manager has been tipped to leave if he manages to win a fifth successive Premier League title.
And that could see De Bruyne decide to move on, with the midfielder open to living in San Diego at some point.
He is not the only City star facing an uncertain future, with Bernardo Silva a target for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ederson could also be on the move.
He is reportedly being fielded by teams in Saudi Arabia and is open to a move away from Etihad.
Players like João Cancelo and Jack Grealish could also be sent off in a major move.
