The Red Devils face Manchester City at Wembley Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Ten Hag, 54, appears to be out of time at the club as he will be fired from the club regardless of the result.

SunSport exclusively revealed that this was the case last month and now the Guardian has told how the Dutchman’s fate is sealed.

He will leave Old Trafford regardless of whether or not he wins the final against his city rivals.

Kieran McKenna and Mauricio Pochettino have been named as potential replacements.

McKenna achieved great success in his short managerial career.

He led Ipswich Town to the Premier League after consecutive promotions from League One.

Pochettino, however, is free after leaving Chelsea at the end of the season.

Thomas Tuchel is also on the list, as the German left Bayern Munich after their first trophyless season since 2012.

The fourth name on the list is Brentford manager Thomas Frank.

How Man Utd could line up under Pochettino

The Dane built a good reputation due to his work at the Bees, as he consolidated the team in England’s top flight.

Ten Hag was linked with a quick return to management at Bayern.

But Vincent Kompany appears to be the main candidate at the Allianz Arena.

Ten Hag won the League Cup in his first season in charge and finished in the top four.

However, this season has been calamitous, with a record Premier League result.

This was on top of exiting the Champions League with a whimper and finishing bottom of the group.

THE RISE AND ASCENSION OF McKenna

Few managers have risen as dramatically as Kieran McKenna.

But few have been tipped for coaching success at such a young age.

London-born McKenna, now 38, retired as a player aged just 22 due to a chronic hip injury.

He started out for Northern Irish sides Enniskillen Town United and Ballinamallard United before joining Tottenham in 2002.

But when he was forced to resign seven years later, he failed to make a single senior appearance.

However, after graduating from Loughborough University, Spurs appointed him Head of Academy Performance Analysis.

It was then, in two years leading Manchester United Under-18s, that his reputation soared most quickly.

After winning the Premier League Northern Division title, McKenna was promoted to assistant to José Mourinho in 2018, remaining at the rear under Ole Gunnar Solskjær and Ralf Rangnick.

Ipswich dove into it in 2021.

And after an impressive half-season in League One, he took over the Tractor Boys in their first full campaign – repeating the feat this season to restore the club’s long-lost top-flight status.

Now, one way or another, McKenna is ready for his biggest management challenge – whether it’s staying at Ipswich or moving to a top club.
