MANCHESTER UNITED fans are convinced Erik ten Hag has found the next Kobbie Mainoo after their FA Cup win.
The Red Devils beat rivals Manchester City 2-1, with Kobbie Mainoo scoring the winning goal.
Mainoo has been an emerging star this season after watching United’s last cup win – the 2023 Carabao Cup – from the stands at Wembley.
After that final, Ten Hag spoke to him on the pitch, with his arm around his shoulder, and appeared to be sharing some tactical tips with the youngster.
15 months later, the United manager did the same to another young Red Devils midfielder – Toby Collyer.
Ten Hag was seen pointing towards the pitch guiding Collyer before shaking the 20-year-old’s hand and hugging him.
Collyer is yet to make his first-team debut for United but has featured for the Under-21s this season.
He joined from Brighton in 2021 and fans think he is ready to follow in Mainoo’s footsteps.
One fan reacted by saying: “‘So next season he’ll score in the FA Cup final, let’s go.’
Another added: “We’ve seen this script before.”

A third wrote: “Toby Collyer will win us the Europa League next season.”
And another commented: “So Toby could be the next academy graduate. It looks like Ten Hag is building a team similar to the Class of ’92.”
