PREMIER League champions Manchester City refused to let the weather rain on their parade yesterday during an open-top bus victory tour.

Pep Guardiola and his team were in town to celebrate winning four titles in a row with a 3-1 victory over West Ham earlier this month.

It was a bit bittersweet after Saturday’s 2-1 FA Cup final defeat to arch-rivals Manchester United.

But the defeat was no hindrance for the players, including striker Erling Haaland, who sprayed champagne into the ranks of passionate fans.

The rain left many city residents drenched, but it was nothing compared to some areas where more than two centimeters fell in the afternoon.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning from noon to 8pm for the North and South West, with flooding, power cuts and travel delays forecast.

Holidaymakers hoping for a coastal getaway at the end of May faced long delays in Devon when the A38 was closed in both directions due to a fatal crash.

The southbound M6 was reduced to one lane after a crash, while a southbound M23 delayed many heading to Gatwick.

Travelers traveling by ferry to France from the port of Dover faced two-hour queues due to the sheer volume of traffic.

The rain stayed away from Wembley, where Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman, 86, was among those watching Southampton win the Championship play-off.

More than 20 million leisure trips were made by car over the weekend – the highest number since pre-pandemic levels in 2019, according to the RAC.

Travel chaos is expected to continue today, with 3.4 million people hitting the roads once again.

Many will face more rain, with scattered showers forecast for most areas.

But sunny periods will return from Wednesday, with maximums of 18ºC.
