CHELSEA have reportedly offered a highly sought-after free agent a contract – despite having no manager.

The Blues are currently without a first-team coach following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino earlier this month.

But, according to reports, this did not stop them from signing a contract offering the form of Fulhamby Tosin Adarabioyo.

Sky Sports claims the west Londoners have “confirmed” they have offered the defender a contract at Stamford Bridge.

Former Manchester City academy star Adarabioyo is set to become a free agent once his contract at Craven Cottage expires at the end of the month.

Chelsea’s potential signing of the 26-year-old – who could be the first arrival of the Enzo Maresca era – is far from guaranteed, as a number of other clubs are interested in acquiring his services.

SunSport understands Adarabioyo is top at Newcastle summer transfer wish list.

Magpies boss Eddie Howe is interested in signing the defender to replace crocodile Sven Botman.

Manchester United would also be interested in signing the future free agent.

Fulham have been resigned to losing Adarabioyo since he rejected the offer of a bumper new deal.

Coach Marco Silva said earlier this month: “Last weekend my decision was a technical decision.

“And from him to me and my team too.

“If Tosin is on the field, he will be on the field, he will be in the team if I decide he will be in the team. Nothing has changed since last week.

“When it starts to arrive, the News that he will not be with us next season, I know what he told me, I’d rather keep it between us.

“Of course, this is the player’s decision.

“But other than that, Tosin is ready to play or be part of the team if I decide he will be there.”
