SunSport understands the board fully supports the German manager despite the 1-0 Championship play-off final defeat to Southampton on Sunday.

Farke, 47, was twice promoted to the Prem as Norwich manager.

And his Leeds team became the first team in the history of the championship not to score 90 points.

Club president Paraag Marathe yesterday wrote an open letter to fans saying: “Although we were unable to meet our ultimate goal of winning promotion this season, I want to thank everyone for their continued support of the club and team throughout the campaign.

“Daniel and the team achieved an impressive 90 points, which is a fantastic achievement and one that should not be forgotten.

“Congratulations to Ipswich Town and Leicester City for the near-historic points totals that earned them automatic promotion, and to Southampton for persevering through the Play-Offs.

“We went into this summer with the main aim of putting ourselves in the best position to compete for promotion next season.

“I can promise that as we regroup, we will be consistent in our approach to operating with a deliberate strategy to field the most competitive team possible.

“Above all, their collective energy and passion at Elland Road and traveling with the team will be key to our next campaign.

One consequence of Leeds’ failure to move up could be a devastating sell-off this summer.

The club owes almost £190m in transfer fees after recording an operating loss of £106m.

And SunSport understands Crysencio Summerville is a £40m target for Chelsea and Liverpool.

Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter, Ethan Ampadu and Willy Gnonto are also being fielded by Premier League teams.
