BAYERN MUNICH have confirmed the appointment of Vincent Kompany as their new coach.
The Manchester City legend was revealed on Wednesday to have left relegated Burnley in a £10m deal.
Kompany, 38, replaces Thomas Tuchel as Bayern’s new coach.
And their main task will be to restore their place as Germany’s number one club after Bayern’s run of 11 consecutive seasons ended with Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen.
Kompany became his main target after criticism from several big names.
Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick are among the fraudsters who rejected Bayern’s advances following Tuchel’s messy fallout.
But Kompany jumped at the chance to take charge at the Allianz Arena following Burnley’s return to the Championship.
The Belgian, who won four Premier League titles as a Man City player, is seen as one of the most promising young players in football.
He could now attack England’s top flight in search of several stars.
SunSport understands that Crystal Palace ace and Euro hopeful Adam Wharton is on Kompany’s shopping list, as is Man City Treble winner Jack Grealish.
