VINCENT KOMPANY is eyeing Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko as his first signing since taking over at Bayern Munich, according to reports.

The 38-year-old former Burnley manager was announced as Thomas Tuchel’s successor earlier this week, despite suffering relegation from the Premier League with the Clarets this season.

He is now looking to reinforce his squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign as Bayern look to regain the Bundesliga title lost to Bayer Leverkusen.

And according to The mirrorZinchenko is on Kompany’s radar as a potential acquisition.

The 27-year-old Ukrainian left-back was dropped from Arsenal’s starting line-up and replaced by Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu at the end of the season.

He has not started any of the Gunners’ last six Premier League games – all won.

Zinchenko, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City for £35m in 2022, could yet fall further down the pecking order with Jurrien Timber returning from his anterior cruciate ligament injury.

And a move to Bayern could happen as, amid reports, the Germans’ first-choice left-back Alphonso Davies is set to sign for Real Madrid.
